What agencies get from an iOS partner like me
Agencies win app projects as part of bigger campaigns or digital programs, but a full-time iOS team is hard to justify between projects. Freelancers who disappear or junior developers who need hand-holding put your client relationship at risk. What I offer instead:
- Senior native iOS and Mac development, in Swift and SwiftUI, with Flutter when a shared iOS and Android codebase really is the better fit.
- Your process, not mine. I work in your project tools, your sprint rhythm and your communication channels.
- A direct line to the engineer. Your project manager talks to the person who writes the code. No account manager in between.
- Handover-ready code. Clean architecture, readable Swift, documented setup, so your client or another team can take it over later.
- App Store work included. TestFlight builds for your client reviews, App Store Connect setup, submission and review.
Experience with agency work
I have delivered more than 20 marketing apps for agencies. That kind of work has its own demands: fixed launch dates tied to campaigns, design-heavy interfaces, client approval rounds, and apps that have to look good in a demo as well as work in the field.
Beyond agency work, I have almost 15 years on Apple platforms, building for large commercial products in telecom, logistics, social networks, health and fitness, and CRM. I have sustained weekly releases for years as a lead iOS developer and shipped an app in 40 languages, which matters when your client is international.
How I fit into your agency’s process
During the pitch
If you are scoping an app for a client, I can help you estimate it, spot technical risks, and say what is realistic on iOS. That keeps you from promising something that will cost you later. A short email exchange is often enough.
During the project
- I join your kickoff and planning, on a video call or in writing, whichever your team prefers.
- You get regular TestFlight builds to show your client, so approval happens on a real device.
- I flag scope changes early and in writing, so you can handle them with your client before they become overruns.
- Code lives in the repository you choose, under your or your client’s organization.
After launch
Many agency apps need updates when the next campaign starts, or a yearly iOS update to keep working. I can stay on for release and maintenance, or hand over cleanly to whoever your client chooses.
Working under your brand
I am happy to work under your brand and your client contract. We agree the terms up front: confidentiality, whether and how I am credited, who owns what, and how I communicate with your client, if at all. Nothing is assumed.
| Topic | How it is handled |
|---|---|
| Client contact | Through you, or directly if you prefer |
| Code and accounts | In the repository and Apple account you or your client choose |
| Confidentiality and credit | Agreed in writing per project |
| Invoicing | HobbySoft OÜ invoices your agency, EU company, clear line items |
| Pricing and dates | Depend on scope, agreed before work starts |
Work you can show your clients
I cannot name agency clients here, but my own apps are public and you can show them to yours:
- Fokus Zone is an iPhone app blocker built on Apple’s Screen Time framework, with geofenced zones, schedules and a Premium subscription.
- My Disc Golf runs on iPhone and iPad in 18 languages, with GPS throw measurement and in-app purchases, live since 2021.
- Haptic Forge is a Core Haptics editor for iPhone, iPad and Mac. If your client wants an app that feels as good as it looks, Core Haptics is a real differentiator.
Need senior oversight rather than hands?
Some agencies have their own iOS developers but no senior lead. I can review their code and architecture, or act as a part-time tech lead across your client projects. See architecture review and tech lead.
Next step
Email contact@hobbysoft.pro with a few lines about the project or pitch: what the app should do, the deadline you are working to, and how you like to run projects. I take on a small number of projects at a time, so it is worth getting in touch early.
